We always recommend the Garden Furniture Oil from OSMO, we use the range of OSMO products on our own furniture and only believe in recommending any product we have personal knowledge of. We are a stockist of OSMO so you can add the oil to your order if you wish.
Minor tannin / resin bleed can occasionally occur and will usually fade with weathering, this is perfectly normal in pressure treated products. We would recommend that you can also wipe with a damp cloth or use a mild wood cleaner product. (spot test first in a discrete location)

We use a 4″ x 2″ external framework for the walls and recommend using a 70mm insulation in the walls, 50mm insulation to the floor and 100mm insulation in the roof. Using the larger timbers for the frame means not only can you git more insulation in your frame is also significantly stronger than a plywood CNC cut kit. We use as standard PIR insulation in the floors and walls with a sheep wool or roll insulation for the roof.
The simple answer is yes, we will sit down to discuss your requirements and build a solution that matches your brief. We believe that taking the time to understand your vision for your hut allows us to personalise the kit to ensure it not only matches your requirements but exceeds them.

If you intend to position one in a National Park, Conservation Area, or a Listed Building, it is wise to check with your local Planning Department. Check out our article on planning here.

The 100mm / 4″ timber frame is entirely clad in structural OSB, enveloped in a breather membrane, insulated with foil-backed PIR insulation, and finished with a vapor barrier, ensuring a comfortable, warm, and dry atmosphere. The internal wall lining features stable tongue-and-groove and sheet materials, creating the appearance of traditional matchboarding and custom paneling. It holds paint exceptionally well. Like many creations, this hut is crafted with a variety of unique elements, elevating it above the rest.
Yes, it features an A-frame drawbar at the steering end, allowing it to be towed by a small tractor or 4×4 to a seasonal resting location, whether in summer or winter. While many of our shepherd’s huts may remain stationary after delivery, their mobility is a significant benefit. Unlike an extension or conversion of an existing outbuilding, you have the flexibility to take it with you if you relocate. A shepherd’s hut truly provides a cost-effective alternative to a costly extension with the complications of construction work.
